Artifacts From Fairmount High School

Fairmount High School in Fairmount, Indiana

Historic Properties, Inc has given Fairmount Surplus permission to sell items from the old Fairmount High School located in Fairmount, Indiana. This school is where the late James Dean attended and graduated from as well as learning his trade of acting, a trade that was cut short by his fatal accident in 1955.

Many of the items are available in multiple lots; many are not. What you are purchasing is not only a remembrance of the school but you are also helping Historic Properties' foundation, Fairmount Foundation http://www.fairmountfoundation.org, prepare financially for the school's restoration. Each item purchased comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that states it came from FHS.

The prices do not reflect shipping and insurance. Since these different pieces are old and many are one-only and/or very fragile, I certainly recommend you have insurance on it to ship. Because of size and weight, there are some items which are pick-up only. Since I value my out-of-the-USA customers, I will ship world-wide

on items that can be shipped.

Items from FHS for Fairmount Foundation that are available for sale:

1.     Front step edging $20.00

        These are from the upper steps going up to the auditorium level.

2.     Locksets $75.00 (with door knobs)

        There are not very many of these available with door knobs.

3.     Bricks $50.00

        Each brick comes with bottom felt and a brass plate.

4.     Roofing Slate $10.00

        Roof slate pieces from the main roof area.

5.     Fire Alarm Pull Stations $40.00

        Again, there aren’t very many of these.

6.     Theater Seats $500.00

        12 are currently available.

7.     Wall Switches $15.00

        Wall switch comes with metal mounting box.

8.     Electrical wall receptacle $15.00

        Wall receptacle comes with metal mounting box.

9.     Library Book Ends $15.00 (Pr)

        These are sold in pairs directly from FHS library.

10.  Electrical knob insulators $15.00

        These insulators are from the attic and above the

        auditorium ceiling area.

11. Porcelain light fixtures $30.00

        These fixtures are nice and should work.

Remember – all items are being sold as-is. In the case of the receps, switches and porcelain light fixtures, exercising care in installing them should result in an item that works but each item is still sold "as-is.”



Prices do not include shipping. Except for the bricks and the theater seats, priority shipping and handling cost is $7.50 on single items, $3.00 on each additional item. Shipping cost for a brick is $10.00. Write or email for shipping details on the theater seats...please include your zip code.
